A Bright Future for PS4

All the cards are on the table now. The next generation of video game consoles have been released and the battle has begun for the hearts and minds of consumers everywhere. With the PS4 coming up on its first birthday, it’s time to see where we are, and where we’re heading. Join us as we celebrate the victories and look into the future. You may want to pack some sunglasses, because the future is pretty damn bright.

We start with the lists above. Updated as of E3 2014, these lists are the comprehensive guide to what is announced, what’s hot, and what’s coming out for the PS4 from now until the end of the year and beyond. The PS4 has already been making massive waves, and now that they are easier to find, the sales will continue to shoot through the roof.

The launch was great, but people were left asking: “Where are the Games?”. Well my friends, now we know where they are, and vaguely when they’re coming. Let’s talk about some of the hottest titles coming to PS4.

Grand Theft Auto V

Rumors were flying like fighter jets in all out combat about GTA V coming to PS4, and this year it was confirmed for release this year! The updated graphics make an already great looking game look even more fantastic! The signature online multiplayer is coming along for the ride as well.

Keep an eye out for this one, even if you played it on PS3, you’ll be ready to jump back into Los Santos the second you see the updated visuals and fidelity for the PS4!

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Another game with rumors coming out of every site, the PS4 E3 2014 conference confirmed with a teaser trailer that Uncharted 4 is indeed in development for the PS4. We don’t know much, other than the title, that it’s happening, and that Sully is confirmed since he was narrating it.

No Man’s Sky

This was a surprise at the Press Conference. A game made by an independent developer where you play as an explorer in a massive procedurally generated universe where you can explore the stars in a ship, navigate planets and fight in battles, all without a single loading screen!

This game made huge waves since the showcase at E3 and while we don’t have a solid date for it yet, this is going to be one to keep an eye on.

Far Cry 4

Another game confirmed this year at E3, Far Cry 4 will blow sales numbers out of the water when it releases this fall. Set in a new open world city in the Himalayas, the snowy landscape and the rough terrain are a welcome change for the series.

We’ve also seen co-op gameplay, all of the classic open-world fun, and a new villain who may, or may not, be as crazy as Voss. I don’t know, he did take a selfie in the trailer.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity

Not set to go another year, Ubisoft is bringing a new Assassin’s Creed exclusively to next generation consoles this year in the form of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. This new entry is set during the French Revolution and features co-op for up to four players, which made for some great antics and teamwork in the demo.

Being on next gen only, the graphics are outstanding, and the number of people in a crowd is so huge, you lose count just by looking at them. Looks like another home run for Ubisoft, I mean, it does have guillotines after all.

From Bungie, the creators of Halo comes this exciting new foray into a science fiction world where you play as a Guardian, tasked with protecting our solar system from a threat that could wipe out existence. No pressure. The game is scheduled for Beta in July on PS4 and pre-ordering will net you a code.

With massive open worlds spanning our solar system, RPG elements, and seamless integration of online and offline playing, this could be major step forward for the First Person Shooter genre.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Activision has seen fit to add another studio to the Call of Duty rotation. In this way, the three studios will get three years each to make their COD games instead of two like in the past. This means better quality and more features, while still getting a game each year.

Sledgehammer Games has worked with the other teams before, but their solo foray this year is looking very nice. The game is futuristic enough to take liberties, while still grounded in reality. All I know is that Kevin Spacey and his likeness are in the game, so this is some AAA stuff.

Battlefield: Hardline

This year’s Battlefield is looking sharp, taking a right turn into the realm of cops and robbers. Think PayDay 2 on the Frostbite Engine and you won’t be far off. With a multiplayer focus on this theme and a campaign developed by Visceral, the studio who does Dead Space, I would say they have a winning formula on their hands.

A surprise Beta at E3 was fun, and with the game coming out this fall, you won’t need to wait too much longer to start chasing your friends in armored trucks and helicopters through city streets as money flies out of every window. Should be fun.

The Crew

Racing games have finally come to the next generation with an open world, coast to coast racing game where the United States is your track, and the load times are non existent. Customize your car from top to bottom, and drive with your friends across the US of A, and never get taken out of the game.

With spectacular graphics and state of the art technology, the Crew is poised to be the racing game of the fall this year, and with some great pre-order bonuses, there’s no reason not to get pumped!

The Order: 1886

One of the biggest exclusives for the PS4 won’t be out until early next year, but we have to mention it. Developer Ready at Dawn is bringing the heat with this action packed third person shooter where you play in a alternate version of Victorian London and go up against terrifying werewolf like enemies.

The cinematic graphics, the intense third person action, and the overall breakneck pace of the gameplay is already showing that this will be well worth the wait.

What games are you looking forward to? What is the number one most anticipated game on your list? Tell us all about it in the comments!

Dragon Age, Destiny and Evolve!

In order of importance:

Graphics and how the game looks.

As a woman, what I want most is to be able to play a woman in any game. (Part of the reason woman don't buy more games or play is because we don't want to play a male character).

RPG and Action Games ... Third Person... swords, bow, magic and I can kind of get into shooter.

To have control over how my character looks (Meaning hair, face, body and armor).

I'm also looking forward to more games coming out that you can play through adventures/ quests/ missions with friends.

So as I put in the subject line I'm excited about Dragon Age, Destiny and Evolve coming out and I would be extremely excited to see games with more of what I like.

Co op!!!

Sony, make some PS4 co op games. Split screen!!! WTF...

I would like to see a Fable come out on Ps4. I hate it being limited to pc and the Xbox. I would love the graphics that Sony does so well to create mixed with the amazing stories that Lionhead makes.

playstation plus free games

I downloaded Don't Starve its a pretty fun game but after a few days it locked me out of the game. Which kinda pissed me off saying application has exspired.
The thing is i still have my playstation plus for another two months could you fix this problem. or put on the games demos and not free games because it confuses people and could make them mad. And we are paying for playstation plus so we are paying for the game anyways so we should not get limits on how much we can play it.

From the list of games, where are the good games? Infamous is the only game I would like to play. Justifying 399+69.99 seems over kill. Already own BF4 on PC so I need good line of exclusives. Uncharted/Infamous would have been the perfect day one option. Hearing bad things about Killone, from stale to entertaining. 1600 to spend, but still on the fence.

MGSV at #42 who ever's in charge of this list needs 2 be shot.

What we need is a new jak and daxter!

Socom 3 just add hellicopters

Socom 3 was the best shooter and I played it for years on ps2. My family and friends bought multiple ps2s to be able to play socom together online or lan partys. It was the best online shooter ive ever played still to this day. Then ps3 came out and socom confrontation. Me and my brother bought ps3s just for the new socom, which we pre ordered. The new socom was fun, but it felt like it went in the wrong direction. It went back to socom 2 days which were fun, but socom 3 was the best. Then socom 4 was a total COD copy cat which failed hard. We didnt even buy that game..

What I want, is a new socom, exactly like socom 3, but add in destructible enviroments, hellicopters, better load out options, maybe a leveling system similar to cod, and lets play some "Demo" on ps4. Ill seeya there. Dont get mad when you die and have to wait 5 mins.

Socom glory days player.

We'll there is a new socom coming out for PS4 it's called H. Hour and it's from the same guy who made socom 2 so it should be good mid year 2015 is when it comes out.

ps4 games

Being football is so popular why not make Ncaa football rather than a baseball game. The game is so awesome on Ps3 I am literally shocked it not on Ps4.

Can you put all the grand theft autos on ps4 then people will buy the ps4 and gta games if you put the on the ps4 if you do I will buy one ps4

Gears of war

I wish playstation could get Gears of War, even if it's the original games remade for PS4. Gears is the game I'll be missing the most coming from 360 to PS4.

Gears on Playstation

Try Quantum Theory, it had a similar feel for me.

New Socom

Does anybody no if the PS4 coming out with a New Socom?

Need For Speed

They need to make a new nfs game for the ps4 like the nfs underground 2. That was the best nfs game ever created. nfs went completely down hill after that one. I haven't bought a nfs game since. If they created nfs for ps4 wit the same concept as the nfs underground 2 with more cars and mods with better tuning like gt5, it would sell like crazy. i would for sure pre order that one!

need for speed

did you not see the need for speed rivals coming out. noob.

need for speed

How ps4 will play ps3 games ...

it will be able to play them by using a streaming survice called gaikai. It will
have thousands of ps1,2,3, and 4 games to download and play right away. Although it will be available sometime next year early.

sorry only by gaikay

it doesnt but you can get some games copy for ps4

No, PS4 currently does not

No, PS4 currently does not play ps3 games, however, with gaikai, which may come out/fully integrated next year, will allow you to play ps3 and ps2 games over the cloud.
