A Bright Future for PS4

All the cards are on the table now. The next generation of video game consoles have been released and the battle has begun for the hearts and minds of consumers everywhere. With the PS4 coming up on its first birthday, it’s time to see where we are, and where we’re heading. Join us as we celebrate the victories and look into the future. You may want to pack some sunglasses, because the future is pretty damn bright.

We start with the lists above. Updated as of E3 2014, these lists are the comprehensive guide to what is announced, what’s hot, and what’s coming out for the PS4 from now until the end of the year and beyond. The PS4 has already been making massive waves, and now that they are easier to find, the sales will continue to shoot through the roof.

The launch was great, but people were left asking: “Where are the Games?”. Well my friends, now we know where they are, and vaguely when they’re coming. Let’s talk about some of the hottest titles coming to PS4.

Grand Theft Auto V
Rumors were flying like fighter jets in all out combat about GTA V coming to PS4, and this year it was confirmed for release this year! The updated graphics make an already great looking game look even more fantastic! The signature online multiplayer is coming along for the ride as well.

Keep an eye out for this one, even if you played it on PS3, you’ll be ready to jump back into Los Santos the second you see the updated visuals and fidelity for the PS4!

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Another game with rumors coming out of every site, the PS4 E3 2014 conference confirmed with a teaser trailer that Uncharted 4 is indeed in development for the PS4. We don’t know much, other than the title, that it’s happening, and that Sully is confirmed since he was narrating it.

No Man’s Sky
This was a surprise at the Press Conference. A game made by an independent developer where you play as an explorer in a massive procedurally generated universe where you can explore the stars in a ship, navigate planets and fight in battles, all without a single loading screen!

This game made huge waves since the showcase at E3 and while we don’t have a solid date for it yet, this is going to be one to keep an eye on.

Far Cry 4
Another game confirmed this year at E3, Far Cry 4 will blow sales numbers out of the water when it releases this fall. Set in a new open world city in the Himalayas, the snowy landscape and the rough terrain are a welcome change for the series.

We’ve also seen co-op gameplay, all of the classic open-world fun, and a new villain who may, or may not, be as crazy as Voss. I don’t know, he did take a selfie in the trailer.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity
Not set to go another year, Ubisoft is bringing a new Assassin’s Creed exclusively to next generation consoles this year in the form of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. This new entry is set during the French Revolution and features co-op for up to four players, which made for some great antics and teamwork in the demo.

Being on next gen only, the graphics are outstanding, and the number of people in a crowd is so huge, you lose count just by looking at them. Looks like another home run for Ubisoft, I mean, it does have guillotines after all.

From Bungie, the creators of Halo comes this exciting new foray into a science fiction world where you play as a Guardian, tasked with protecting our solar system from a threat that could wipe out existence. No pressure. The game is scheduled for Beta in July on PS4 and pre-ordering will net you a code.

With massive open worlds spanning our solar system, RPG elements, and seamless integration of online and offline playing, this could be major step forward for the First Person Shooter genre.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Activision has seen fit to add another studio to the Call of Duty rotation. In this way, the three studios will get three years each to make their COD games instead of two like in the past. This means better quality and more features, while still getting a game each year.

Sledgehammer Games has worked with the other teams before, but their solo foray this year is looking very nice. The game is futuristic enough to take liberties, while still grounded in reality. All I know is that Kevin Spacey and his likeness are in the game, so this is some AAA stuff.

Battlefield: Hardline
This year’s Battlefield is looking sharp, taking a right turn into the realm of cops and robbers. Think PayDay 2 on the Frostbite Engine and you won’t be far off. With a multiplayer focus on this theme and a campaign developed by Visceral, the studio who does Dead Space, I would say they have a winning formula on their hands.

A surprise Beta at E3 was fun, and with the game coming out this fall, you won’t need to wait too much longer to start chasing your friends in armored trucks and helicopters through city streets as money flies out of every window. Should be fun.

The Crew
Racing games have finally come to the next generation with an open world, coast to coast racing game where the United States is your track, and the load times are non existent. Customize your car from top to bottom, and drive with your friends across the US of A, and never get taken out of the game.

With spectacular graphics and state of the art technology, the Crew is poised to be the racing game of the fall this year, and with some great pre-order bonuses, there’s no reason not to get pumped!

The Order: 1886
One of the biggest exclusives for the PS4 won’t be out until early next year, but we have to mention it. Developer Ready at Dawn is bringing the heat with this action packed third person shooter where you play in a alternate version of Victorian London and go up against terrifying werewolf like enemies.

The cinematic graphics, the intense third person action, and the overall breakneck pace of the gameplay is already showing that this will be well worth the wait.

Man, it feels like that i am only one visiting this site daily. I THINK that ppl would be interested in ps4. But i dont know... Maybe it's just that only a few people have thought about "when they release ps4 if they are going to make ps4 anyway?" and then they come here. Or maybe i'm just bored to wait 2 years (technically 1 year, 10 months, 26 days, 6 hours, 20 seconds) for the ps4 :P . I hope they would release it earlier. That would be AWESOME! Release date is 17.12.2012. But, still after writing this long list of crap, i still feel that this site haves only, what, 10 visitors in a month. I hope more people would be interested in ps4. Jesus im weird... To all who reads this, i say one thing. I just took 3-5 minutes from your life, if you read this whole comment, i'm sorry that i wasted those 3-5 minutes of your life in this stupid text. You're not the only one who visits this site daily. I come to this site often to see new articles written by PS4Guru and to check any comments on my own article. This is a great website, we just need more people to come by and join the community. Your concern has been noticed by me and and the administrator. At the moment I am just trying to think of any ideas to get more people to come to this website, any ideas? We have a Facebook page and a twitter page open now that you could like/follow so that it gets noticed by your friends. Thank you :) Henry.


The traffic on the site is fairly solid, and is steadily improving and getting more consistent, especially over the past 3 months, and especially considering there really hasn't been any concrete information or even any real big rumors about the PS4 yet. As far as the community, you're right that not many people have signed up, and there isn't a lot of discussion going on. While we would prefer everyone sign up and become a part of the community, we found that no one was commenting when we were forcing registration to comment, so we ditched that, at least for now. Like Henry said, be sure to follow us on Twitter and FB, as we plan to push our growth through those avenues.


Hey I wonder who I can contact to tell about this different kind of survival horror storyline for a ps4 game. I'm an aspiring writer and I just so happen to like the genre. It would be an open world game. Anyways, I'm not going to release any of the character or story here,obviously. I just don't know who to contact or which company would be the best for the job. Ubisoft is good at open world games but they seem to not spend enough time on the games because there have been numerous bugs. So, I was thinking of maybe an independent developer would be a better fit considering they can still render great graphics and gameplay. With the game being more about horror, still having the appropriate amount of action,and having a great storyline that will help taper in the two in a seamless way I just don't know which developer would fit the bill,right now. Any ideas?

I think that the reason why this site doesn't have very much visitors is that the people has not heard or thought about Ps4 yet. Sony has not mentioned that there's a ps4 in 2 years. Only a few people have thought about it. Personally, i found this site because i wanted to buy ps3, and i wanted to check that when does the Ps4 come, if Sony are going to make it. I wrote "ps4" on google and here i am, writing this. See you! :D

OMG i cant wait for the ps4 i love the ps3 and im so excited sony are going to do a great job with it.The ps4 will be the greatest console ever created never mind xbox ps4 rules the gaming industry.I think when the ps4 arrives we should be able to trade in our ps3s and get the ps4 at a discounted price.So sony if you do read this comment i have one suggestion about highly upgrading the HD resoloution and upgrading our gaming experience.Thank you.
