There was a job opening at naughty dog for a graphic designer that can render an image to the millionth or so megapixel, the regular PS3 games run at about 200-400k mp... therefore the PS4 graphics will be near reality and more than likely compatible with 3d tvs.

monster hunter has got to be one of the least appreciated game of all time, now that might be due to capcom not releasing most monster hunter games to north America, but if you've ever played monster hunter freedom unite you'll know how good the series is.... now right now most of the mh titles are for either a portable device or a horrible nintendo console (not naming any names) now if they were able to move a game like monster hunter to a good console with next generation graphics who knows what kind of possibility it might hold.

bottom line is monster hunter is an amazing series witch would motivate all hardcore fans (and trust me there out there) to buy a ps4, just like monster hunter freedom unite motivated me to buy a psp.thank you for reading this.

Those type of game worlds need one thing.
It's not CPU power - we've already got that.
It's not GPU power - we've already got that.

It's Memory.
Not 1Gb. Not 2Gb; but 4Gb Unified minimum. And from a developers perspective, like Crytek and Epic, 8Gb Unified.
Not Video memory and Main memory separated.
And it's Storage mediums that can read-stream 1Gb/sec at 0.01ms - a 4th Generation SSD.

Otherwise, all you will do is repeat the problems on PC x86 architecture. Repeat the same knowns and the same "unknowns in a different package".

The new generation systems will stay just where everything has gone long before, and remain that way for almost 10 years into the future.
That kind of approach will fail.

Fortunately, Microsoft, Sony and AMD seem to think the above insights are the right way to go.
Not sure about Nintendo - but I think something big is going to be announced with Nintendo's intentions of putting out something that rivals the best Sony and Microsoft can think up.

If any one of these game console makers gets it wrong anywhere near what they did this generation, one of them is going to end up with a 250 Million user base within 4 years of their releases.

I am beginning to see how surreal video games are becoming. It is awesome. Of course, I know that Playstation 4 is going to be expensive. But, the third one already costs too much today. I do have PS2. I have to wait until I have enough money or if the price for PS3 goes down even more.

President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America Jack Tretton commented in a interview with IGN about PlayStation 4 being a distraction for the company.

Tretton said that the release of PS4 will depend on Sony’s current platforms and how they perform.

“In terms of when you talk about [the next generation] and when you announce it, it really depends on the health of the existing platform and the other things you have going on,” Tretton said. “And right now, we’re focused on PlayStation 3, and I’ve got another platform (PS Vita) to get out the door in seven days, so I don’t want to be thinking about trying to launch new technology anytime soon. I want to focus all our energy on our console business, which is really just hitting its stride, and Vita, which really deserves a dedicated push from us.”

Tretton admitted he would be distracted if he had to discuss PlayStation 4 this year.

“I, quite frankly, would be very distracted if I had to be talking about next generation hardware this year.”

It's sad how i just bought a PS3 in January. I won't have enough money to buy PS4 until like 2015. Plus i agree with the people who say the PS3 hasn't reached its peak. 6 years after its release it is STILL creating good exclusives.

I have my ps3 for like 3 years.
it didnt broke, only some internet problems.
but sometimes if i /play to long its gonna freeze, thats a way to stop being game addict.
hope ps4 doesnt freeze.

this is sad ive read about people sayin that the wow factor is in ps4. its sad to think that sony will be ditchen the ps3 so soon when then only used like 30 or 40% of its potential. you would think that they would take their time to sit there and try and make a game that is so insane that it would break the ps3 then be like... upgrade time! that is when i think they should make a addtional console.

Since Sony wants their market back and get good sales, they'll need to add more ram,PS3 support,Cross-Game Chat and better online

i like a good amount of genres and seriously, the playstation4 needs a crapload of power to carry the future gen. for 10 years like the playstation 2 did, if it's quickly upgraded again, i think sony will only farm money off their most loyal fans. i have a limited budget so i can't afford to spend like 500 bucks which is probably like what the ps4 is going to cost every lets say 2 years with the handhelds. i guess FFV will be in the PS4 then, i actually prefer just pushing the PS3 to the max first, like in all seriousness, the PS3 still has atleast 5 years of further development and PS4 is just going to destroy it. if you ask me, i would rather it not come out for another 3 years.

When i got my PS3 i only had 3 games to play (in fairness i played them for weeks on end)
I had my PS2 and i had a massive pile of PS2 games which i loved. There are some great classics hidden amoungst my collection and all of which i was disapointed to find i could NOT play on my PS3 and so had to keep my old PS2 plugged in for whenever i wanted to play an old classic (Kingdom Hearts, Destroy all Humans etc.)

I am hoping that the PS4 will have the neccesary emulator to play PS3 games so i do not have to start my collection over again and be stuck with 1 or 2 games for the first couple months.

i think the ps4 is going to be completley and totally beyond awsome!!

I hope this new fancy big system means they will make more co-op games :(

is that they need to use real models of guns, in the games, scan actual guns into the graphics-- the gun stays on the screen the whole time. to have a gun that is virtualy real/true vision in the game play would outstand since the gun is always on the screen for shoting games.

i think sony should make live background apps for the ps3 & the ps4 & then put them on the psn.

i reckon they need to re-do fallout to include a mechanics skill and broken down vehicles and depending on your mechanics skill you can re-birth better cars,trucks etc: sure get across the mojave quicker lol

Could you imagine it like, Manny Pacquiao fights George "Rush" St-Pierre or Big Show takes on Cain Velasquez or even Floyd Mayweather. Come on if you can make a game like this it will surely be awesome. Please create a videogame like this.

well as u clearly had said it will be on top for about two years the realease date of ps4 is in one yr and some odd days in JAPANNN !!! atleast another year before it hits the states and the rest of the world
