PS4 vs XBOX 720 - Who Wins
PS4 vs XBox which is better?
Ever since the dawn of man, if you give humanity an option there will be competition. Whether that is choosing what deity you bow to or selecting your favorite brand of booze at the bar, people’s opinions and choices will always create competition. There are few competitors on the market that can create the following of the big name consoles; the passion and dedication of the fans can be seen in rant form on any gaming community website, including this one.
This has been true with consoles ever since Nintendo and Sega; did you prefer bouncing across the heads of mushrooms in the slightly trippy land of the Mario Brothers, or were you a fan of our speedy, blue haired friend on the Sega? From console to game to accessory, everyone has their preference and as people start to line up the next generation of consoles, arguments are already heated.
Although we can only guess at most of it, we can look back at the Playstation 3 and the Xbox360 for some rough ideas on the technology and pricing. The Playstation 3 was backed with the Cell processor developed by Sony, IBM and Toshiba while the Xbox360 was powered with the Xenon created by IBM. With both Sony and Microsoft doing well, and the companies that produced the technology behind the consoles still booming, we could be looking at a much larger leap to the next generation than was felt in previous years.
I never really pay much attention to the technology behind the consoles; I'm more interested in what new ways they can invent for me to blow someone’s head off. I look back at my time in the gaming world and my fondest memories all involve something a little new, from running around in Soldier of Fortune dismembering people to finding out how many ways I can kill someone in the ludicrously tasty Manhunt. With the current generation putting a heavy focus on the way we interact with games, is it fair to expect this as standard in the next generation?
Personally, I've always been a Playstation guy so I already know that the Playstation 4 will knock the socks off the next generation of Xbox. I wouldn't care what I heard about the console prior to release, I know that when the day comes, it will be Sony and not Microsoft that will get my money. I don't really consider myself a fan boy or anything close, I enjoyed the Playstation, the PS2 and I'm still enjoying the PS3, I can't help but think many other gamers out there are the same. Could either company release something that would actually sway the gaming audience or are people so set in their ways that it would take something catastrophic to change your loyalties?
I considered the Xbox famous RROD to be pretty catastrophic but people still dedicate their loyalties to that very console, even if the next generation produced something worse, people feel safe when they're loyal and for that reason alone I think both next generation consoles will thrive.
Who Will Get In Front?
The console market is a competitive one and with more and more companies trying to push out the best of the next generation, what kind of tactics and methods can we hope to see?
Currently consoles can offer different methods of interacting with games, exclusive titles and various add-ons, such as the browser on the PS3, but what areas with the big guns aim for next round? The Wii is popular for its user friendly approach and the Wii-U is expected to be huge, already dominating the casual gaming market, what could Nintendo do to broaden their player-base? Making the console compatible with the latest titles would be a step in the right direction, not only allowing players the interaction levels of Wii games but also giving them all the benefits of the top titles from other consoles.
Assuming the Wii-U did attempt something along those lines, what could Sony and Microsoft do to help the Playstation 4 and Xbox 720 compete? This is where the real problem starts as both companies and consoles offer pretty much the same thing. Both know the recipe for success when it comes to launching a games console so it's inevitable both companies will mimic ideas from the other, leaving two consoles with very little between them and players buying through loyalty rather than choice.
It would be great for one of them to take a real big step, similar to the drastic change from the Nintendo Gamecube to the Wii. Maybe Sony will raise the bar and offer all DLC content at half the price of its competitors? Maybe Microsoft will be able to buy dozens more exclusive titles that Sony can get their hands on, one thing is for sure, both companies are fighting and uphill struggle as the release of the Wii-U approaches.
Hardware Wars
I know I said I didn’t pay much attention to the technology behind the next generation consoles, but the technology behind the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 is so close that even I had to take notice. I’ve compiled a chart that lists all of the information that is rumored for each system so we can compare the two. Keep in mind that all of this information is rumor and hearsay so far, and that I’ve only compiled the information I’ve seen or heard into the chart:
| Xbox 720 | PS4 | |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Unnamed 16 core CPU | AMD 8-core x64 |
| GPU | Radeon HD 6670 | Radeon GPU |
| RAM | 2 GB | 8 GB GDDR5 |
| Optical Drive | Blu-ray | Blu-ray |
| Storage | Hard Drive | Hard Drive |
I know what you’re thinking upon looking at this chart; the statistics of both systems look the same. I know I previously guessed that both systems would have quite a difference between them; after all, looking at the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, both systems use extremely different hardware. However, it seems with the next generation, this isn’t the case, as both systems are close in terms of specifications and rely heavily on AMD.
Looking at the GPU, which is commonly referred to as the graphics card, you’ll notice a slight difference; the PlayStation 4’s graphics card is a bigger number, possibly referencing the fact that the graphics card is a better model. Sadly, this isn’t the case; the Radeon 7670 is, by all accounts, a rebranded 6670 and both cards feature the same specifications. Both cards feature DirectX 11 support in addition to 1 Gigabyte of VRAM, which is going to blow the current generation of consoles away. I previously didn’t think we’d see a big jump in graphics, but I was definitely wrong.
In terms of CPU, the Xbox 720 is rumored to feature an impressive 16 core CPU. However, the PlayStation 4’s A8-3850 APU is a beefy 2.9 GHz quad-core and is rumored to be specifically designed to work with the 7670. This reminds me of how the PlayStation 3 components were designed to work together and how it produced better PlayStation 3 exclusive games, so color me excited.
As for the rest of the specs, both systems are rumored to be using at least 2 GB of RAM, though many developers, including Crytek, Epic and Electronic Arts, are asking for at least 8 GB of RAM in either console. If the PlayStation 4 can meet this demand, we’ll see a large increase in visuals and objects on-screen, making the PS4 the go-to console for many gamers. The PS4 will use Blu-ray again, as this is Sony’s proprietary technology, while it’s rumored Microsoft will make the jump to Blu-ray as well; any gamer will tell you that sticking with DVD technology was a bad idea for the 360. Both systems will definitely use a hard drive, though much larger than the current systems, as we’ll likely see a larger push to digital gaming on both consoles.
Looking at these statistics, I think it’ll be a close race for both systems going solely by hardware. But I think Sony, with its large stable of first party games such as God of War, Infamous and Killzone, will prove to Microsoft that hardware can only take you so far; you need the games and franchises to utilize the hardware, which any gamer knows that Sony has.
PS4 VS XBOX 720 Update: April 4th, 2013
A senior developer at Ubisoft recently revealed his thoughts on the next-generation console wars. According to Yannis Mallat the Xbox 720 will take a similar approach to social integration that Sony have taken with the Playstation 4.
"It's going to be connected. It's going to be social. It's going to be immersive. It's going to be interactive."
To give more credit to his comments is the recent leak of the Xbox 720 developer kit. It's obvious the big name developers are working on next-generation consoles and Ubisoft were one of the most successful in 2012. Could Mr. Mallat's comments be taken more from experience than anything else? After all, he's probably involved in the development of Xbox 720 games as we speak.

PS4 VS XBOX 720 Update: February 24th, 2013
At the PlayStation event on February 20th, Sony not only announced the new PlayStation 4 but also mentioned that the device would be far more powerful than its predecessor. Since then, the company has released the specific hardware specs that power the device internally.
In particular, the PlayStation 4 will use an AMD 8-core x64 CPU coupled with a Radeon GPU. This setup means that televisions can get 1.84 TFLOPS for speedy gaming without compromising the graphic quality of the upcoming games to be released. In addition, the PlayStation 4 will sport 8 GB of GDDR5 RAM, which is a huge increase from the PlayStation 3 that only uses 256 MB of GDDR3 RAM.
Sony also shed some light on the rest of the hardware specs, such as 802.11n Wi-Fi capability, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and some USB 3.0 ports and ports for HDMI, analog AV and optical audio. In addition, fans can rejoice at the return of an optical drive as Sony will include a Blu-ray drive capable of running discs at 6X and 8X speeds.
Internal storage will also be available, but there is no word yet on how much Sony will provide. Considering Sony's push to create a network that will automatically download games based on the user's preference, it seems likely that the internal storage space will be considerably large; having just 20 GB on a system that automatically downloads large games simply would not be sufficient.
As of this writing, there is no additional information on what else fans can expect from the console. This includes a lack of information on whether the hardware will accept any kind of disc-based backwards compatibility, though all signs are pointing to Sony not including any hardware compatibility due to the mention of working on a cloud-based compatibility initiative at the Feb. 20th event.
Currently, there is still no word on either the price or the date that Sony intends to release the PlayStation 4. At the moment, the only release window provided is during the holiday season this year, most likely around October or November 2013.
PS4 VS XBOX 720 Update: December 28th, 2012
A number of industry experts have expressed their concerns that the PlayStation 4 may avoid Cell-based technology in their CPU's entirely. Although no official statements have been made, the industry as a whole is suggesting that the main reason for avoiding the use of this technology is due to the difficulty it poses for developers.
Many have stated, including developers themselves, that the Playstation 3 still hasn't released it's full power under current CPU technology, while others have said it has taken way too long to get there. Why is this? Well to make it brief, it's just too complex a system to support the rapid development cycles we see nowadays.
Cell-based CPUs are a heterogeneous technology, consisting of two different kinds of processing cores, each with different capabilities and responsibilities. The PPE core hands generic processing while the SPE code handles multimedia processing. The PS3 equivalent offers 7-8 SPE with a clock speed of 3.2ghz with rough operation performance of over 200GFLOPS.
Way back at E3, during the time of Playstation 3 propaganda Sony stated that the reason for choosing Cell-based technologies was to offer users the ability to loan CPU power to other similar devices, although that idea never came to light and sometime later Sony sold the patent rights to Toshiba, prompting rumors even back then that the next generation would avoid Cell-based tech.
Even still, developers have had a long time working with Cell now, don't you think that experience would go a long way in removing development problems with the Playstation 4? Well from a player standpoint the only real reason for a Cell is the fact that it would be vital for backwards compatibility. Without using a similar Cell structure, it would be extremely difficult, meaning you'd see a few million PS3 games suddenly hitting the pre-owned shelves shortly after the launch of the Playstation 4.
PS4 VS XBOX 720 Update: December 27th, 2012
Although players continuously argue about the popularity of current generation consoles, there can't be any debate regarding the popularity of the next generation of these bad boys. The image below contains figures based on search terms used on Google, in the millions over the last 11 months.
What does this mean for the battle between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720? Well, we can't tell you for sure that every single person that searched for each product will buy their console of choice but when you're 50 million people behind in searches, that's a pretty huge deficit. Many are saying that the Playstation 4 will boast better hardware, some are saying that the inevitable adaptation of Windows 8 on the XBOX 720 will deter gamers, what I'm saying is that the facts speak for themselves.
Are you surprised by the huge differences between the searches over the last 11 months? Does this sway your intentions to buy your console of choice?

ps4 vs xbox 720/infinity.
PS4 will be better hardware-wise and game wise (obviously)
Xbox 720 all the way
Just trust me, get a xbox 720 instead of the ps4. ps4 sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Playstation 4
Playstation is, has been and forever be better than the xbox, they are just trying to keep up they're going to run out of number soon lol, but PSN can go on.... PSN4L!
Hot subject to post atm
i mean i myself use to have the original x-box however i turned to ps3 after realising online actually cost money! of course ps3 and x-box are both great given that you can create ur avatar on x-box and get free internet on ps3...Both consoles have there faults and both have there positives, lets just hope that the 720 and ps4 can be as better as the old and not get to technical
Xbox will sore over Playstation
rumor has it that the Xbox 720 will have cloud storage, and that games will have to be redownloaded and re paid for the merge of your account. plus myself and others are conserned that all the money put into the Xbox 360 will be in vain, and others are conserned that there friends that upgrde to the Xbox 720 will not be able to chat with there Xbox 360 friends. If Microsoft addresses vthese issues i think that the prematur launch of Playstation 4 will prove to be Plastations down fall and undoing, with the console price at $699 - $999, Xbox will sore with prices of $399 - $499. Xbox 720 is rumored to have all the features of the new Playstation console with added features. If it was me id pick Xbox over Playstation for the price. You cant beat a better quality product for a cheaper price
xbox all the way
dude you know nothink about the knew xbox is it even called 720 and for that other thing you will still use same gamertag!
skyrim
i think it should be more focused on the ps4 and xbox rather than just mainly for the pc that ticks me of that we have to wait months after for it
This is so biased
What about halo and gears of war? which is only exclusive to xbox, the ps4 will be better hardware but the xbox 720 will have dlc first exclusives and more partnerships.
Playsation 4 will have early DLC and partnerships...
PS4 will have "early" DLC and partnerships... If you watched the conference at all, you'd know this. Since the hardware is so much easier to write for, a lot more developers have signed on to get on the PS4 - a major studio being Bungie. And there won't be delayed DLC for the PS4 (unless the developers are at fault) for this reason as well. I don't know where you're getting the "better hardware on PS4" bit, since the official specs on the 720 haven't even been revealed. Both things you've stated are factually incorrect.
ps3 is better then xbox 360
I mean get it straight the ps3 is better then the xbox because it doesn't have the fee for online like xbox and it plays bluray discs. The specs are also 10x better.so the xbox fans go cry.
dumb
dumb
PC beats all
Lol pc beats both ps3 and xbox I mean come on u never hear xbox is better than pc or ps3 is better than pc cause those ppl know that pc will stomp them both.
EXCLUSIVES ?
PC doesn’t get the good exclusive title's ever. You dont get KILLZONE,GEARS OF WAR 2 AND 3 OR HALO 3 AND 4 also you dont get UNCHARTED OR RESISTANCE.That is why games consoles are better for gaming.
If all these titles where available on PC which they SHOULD be because they where MADE on PC THEN yes i would agree the PC is better.
You have the power and performance but you don’t have the games on PC so.....fail
lol what?
Are you serious? Pc has so many exclusive titles and shared titles it is ridiculous. You are out of your mind. Look at all the mmo games that are still selling and raking in a monthly fee. You also have to remember that the pc has had games being made for it since the 70s. Plenty of pc only games. It's obvious you have never had a gaming pc.

Compeditive priceing for ps4
There is that stupid question online "would you pay $1000 for a ps4" but looking back at how much sony lost in sales just baced on price to the xbox i would think thay wouldent want to make the starting price much different. If you think about it eventho the ps3 was a better system there were nearly twice as meany xboxs sold in the us than ps3's. I would imagin thay would want to stays price compeditive. Unless thay want to go under like so meany otheres that Nintendo took out just by staying cheap.
would you pay $1000 for a ps4
Love, don't know where you are in the world? But here where I am(Australia) we have & still do pay $1000 for a ps3's so when I see something saying "would you pay $1000 for a ps4" I have to have a giggle to myself. Knowing to well that when it hits Australian shores we would be paying something in a price range $1500 - $2000aust for it so stop complaining about $1000 & think there is other parts of the world are paying a lot more than YOU ARE!
Look at the facts
Sony made more money last year then they ever did
lol
Funny sony recorded a loss of 544m dollars in the third quarter and is trying to sell its new york branch for 1.1bn so it can make up for the huge losses.
Competition is good
Remember back in nintendo and sega days...competition creates great games but with internet and face book, this changes everything back then once a game was bought you were stuck with that dud....now with I.T. if a bad game gets releaesed we will all know about it and not buy it...so things have changed and it guarantees good games....hopefully....cant wait for games to be as good as the movies in games...................that would rock....and from what I hear this is it... cant wait to seeeeeeeeeeeeee.....yayyyyyyyyyyyyy....
xbox 720
think about it guys, microsoft is taking time now like most game developers or console developers should do they are going to release the ps4 ealier than the 720 there trying to compete but in the long run the more time you take making something the better it will be;)
Playstation 4
ps4 will be better than xbox 720 and microsoft said that there wouldn't be that mnay changes from the 360 to the 720 and still no blu ray microsoft said. sony is making many changes even on the controller.so ps4 will be better than the 720
Either you made that up or...
...You blindly believe what you read on forum :)
Microsoft have said nothing like that about their next gen console and refuse to comment on rumours. So I think that's wishful thinking from you.
So don't make it up please, wait for the next gen Xbox launch.
Better it will be?....
Yh XBOX360 was released before PS3. That is why PS3 is a more reliable console ... THINK before you write nonsense will you, BOTH Microsoft and Sony know what thdre doing.
Shut up
sony has more money think about that they can re do it
Lol
Actually sony has taken a loss the last 4 years. So I don't know where all this magic money is coming from but if they were doing fine they wouldn't be selling their new york branch.
It's only by about a few months, if even...
The next-gen Xbox is more than likely going to be released within a few months of the PS4's release, if even that. There isn't enough time to change the hardware so quickly. Microsoft already has the hardware set, right now they're optimizing it all, and getting enough made so they can actually sell something when it's released. There's rumor of an Xbox 720 unveil coming soon, so your theory doesn't have much substance. Microsoft may have had more time to design their new console, but that doesn' t mean they used it or used it well. You can get something done in a quick matter, as long as you do it reliably and efficiently. Time doesn't always mean quality. Look how long it took for GT5 to be made - it was an incomplete (yet still very good) product.
The PS4 is a waste of time
The PS4 is a waste of time and money, I mean cool you got better hardware and all that bs but if it doesn't have backwards compatibility then why bother. I have like 30 some odd on disc games. Why shouldn't I be able to play those on the PS4 as well. But hey, I'm not surprised, ever since the PS3 and 360 came out gaming has gone down the drain, along with my money apparently
Then why did you want your PS3 over your PS2?
The PS3 mad MASSIVELY improved hardware and graphical improvement from the PS2, and online features. Same with the PS4. Is that not the sole reason to get a new console...? Sure, the PS3 had backwards compatibility, but you seem to be enjoying your PS3 games...
The point of next-gen gaming is to play next-gen games... But you seem to want to only play your old games... So why don't you stick with your PS3 and wait till you're ready for the PS4...? Not everyone will be switching immediately.
hash
well, today people wants best grafic, and old games already are old, and u already have ps3 so why do u need ps4 that have backw cap ?
well only one bad thing - two consoles behind tv.. is it realy so bad ?
Why do people HATE Sony?
Is Sony a baby killer?... i dont get it! insted of somebody saying, 'i prefer Xbox', what they say insted is 'i HATE playstation!'... Why? Its a games consol! That is all. Sony does NOT support terrorism! Im a little sick to death of the hate. When I bought my PS3 I was almost convinced it wasnt going to work because of all ghe bad and negative things said about PS3. Guess what?.. I found absolutely nothing wrong with it! As little as a month had past, i decided to trade in my XBOX360. purely because of the attitude of the fan boys. YOU DID THIS!!!
Why do you want a PS4 for PS3 games...?
I mean, the whole purpose of new hardware is bigger and more spectacular new games... But you just want to play the old stuff...? If you're that concerned about not being able to play old games, don't buy the new hardware. Even then, there's supposed to be a stream service for old PS games, and likely along with that you'd be able to transfer your save files via PSN.
Or how about...
Buy the new hardware, play the new games whilst keeping the old hardware to play the old games. i still have all three playstations hooked up for this exact purpose.
Some people want or need to trade.
Some people want to sell their old console to soften the price of the new one that's replacing it. And some people's consoles (like me) are dead or dying - mine is dead currently, which I can fix myself - which I've done 3 times already. If I want to fix the thing and make it last, it'll be $70-100 for a new motherboard, and likely $50+ to buy a bigger hard drive, which I need in order to keep updating GT5 and Borderlands 2, let alone other games and DLC. But I think the PS4 is worth getting with or with out BC - I mean, the purpose is to play new, bigger, and better games on it, isn't it? And haven't we seen massive graphical and social improvements just from the demos...? As soon as a new Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet, DiRT, Borderlands, Motorstorm, Uncharted and/or similar replacements for these games come out for the new hardware, I really don't think I'll need backwards compatibility. There aren't many games on PS3 that I'm into that are worth keeping for the story. Though, the I'd like to still be able to play the old Uncharted and InFamous games. Anything on PS2 I can just come by a new PS2, since that's going for about $30-50 a pop now. And, it's been said that old games will be able to be streamed onto the new hardware, likely through a PSN scan.
Long story short: I don't understand all of the butt-hurt over the backwards compatibility.
Ps3 uses a cell procceser you
Ps3 uses a cell procceser you would need one in the ps4 for it to play ps3 games. That would make the console very expensive.
OS VS CPU
the os will support the older ps3 format and will run on the new processor hardware will not be an issue. sony is not making that mistake twice. and they have incorporated a newer 6x bd-rom
A singular console
People always complain about xbox this or ps that, here's my take.
I grew up on the PS line switched from ps2 to xbox 360, both companies have great systems, each with its own problems, I like to play games alot and when a game comes out and I can't play because its on a different console I get pissed.
Why can't they just team up an bring their best into a single console, that way everybodys happy. No difficult choises, we all profit. Let it play games on disc, digital, card ect
Let it play movies, music. Text, chat, skype, whatever. Let it be created with only the best parts money can buy, cause eventually its all going to be digital. A solar flare, a pissed off hacker, then we'd all be screwed.
A singular console,works
I'm the same way, there'd be problems with only one console, but in the long run sure.
'EPIC'
IF YOU HAD ONE COBNSOLE THEIR WOULD BE NO COMPETITION, there would be an immediate monolpoly and what we as consumers say would then have little impact because at the end of the day we'll get the console at least this way all 3 companies yes I'll include the true winner of the console war the Nitendo WII for reasons unknown. With competition their is a competition on pricing, quality, marketing, excessibility, application if not for Sonys opposition would the PS4 have had to become so 'EPIC'.
Rebuttal
That's not true. That's like saying some Bluray players should only play certain bluray discs. No, it's the games themselves that make these individual companies their fortunes, not the consoles. Sometimes having to buy a different console is what hurts them. Just ask Atari and Sega.
The companies compete over hardware.
Sony and Microsoft are in heated competition with their hardware, and it's been a very close race, and it's looking to stay a close race.
But, look at the Wii U. It isn't even CLOSE to the power of the PS4. I have a feeling Nintendo could fall out of the console lineup if they don't improve their hardware in the next generation or two. If there isn't competition, there isn't exactly a standard - just trying to outdo yourself, without any gauge on progress. When you have competition, you have a real challenge. Competition is the source of how just about everything got done - prime example being the space race. How long would it have took for one of the nations to gain dominance in space technology if either the US or Russia hadn't even made any attempts? No one knows, but there likely wouldn't have been as much drive.
the ps4 officially has better
the ps4 officially has better stats than xbox 720.also xbox's are prone to breaking.one of my friends had an xbox 360 and it broke within a year.i have had a ps2 for 13 years and it has the same stats as it started with, and i realy ragged it.i left it running for 48 hours straight, and hit it hard a ton when i was young.xbox is fragile, expensive, and pointless.it is pointless for microsoft to update the xbox to(all things considered)a gamecube.anyone who prefers the xbox 720 must have no mind, heart,or soul.it is pointless for microsoft to go through with the 720 when they could be working on a hyperfast pc,and then they still have to deal with apple.this is stupidl.
Not True
The ps4 has potential. It doesn't mean it will be better. 720 could tower over the ps4 or it could be the other way around their is no way to know you can look at the specs but micro soft could change it. And also mircro soft is software so the battle with apple isn't a big deal and most people own pcs not macd so micro soft has nothing to worry about.
Not everybody wants to play video games on PC
A Smart games console sat under my t.v ....MMMmmmm perfect! Forfet a big noisy chunky PC that needs constantly updating to keep ahead of todays games consoles. Costing stupid amounts or money.
mmmmm pc
MMMMMMMmmmmm my pc can outrun your console that hasn't even come out yet and its a few years old. MMMmmmm my pc can play games at a better resolution and won't have washed out pixelated graphics and low choppy fps. Mmmmmm my pc can do tons of other things that your game console can't. Lol people that talk junk about pcs when it comes to gaming have really no clue about gaming whatsoever. I can modify my pc and I don't get banned. My pc boots up in less then 20 seconds. I can play games at ultra settings and if something on it breaks I don't have to buy a whole new one or mail it off to have it fixed I just replace it.(Not counting the parts that have lifetime warranties like xfx gpus). On top of that games like fps's play a lot better on the keyboard and mouse.
Nonsense :)
The 720 has not been official launched as yet, therefore no-one can say that the PS4 is officially more powerful, you can only speculated based upon rumours. The rumour since early last year was that the 720 will feature TWO GPUs, if that's true then it will be the more powerful console. It's great you had your PS2 for 13 years, my PS2 suffered from the DRE (Disk Read Error) like *many* PS2s, but that's irrelevant. Every console gen is different, it could be the PS4 having hardware problems next-gen, it could be the 720, it could be both or none of then, we just have to wait and see. The 720 has not been official
The rest of your post is just 100% fanboy nonsense :)
microsoft got smart
microsoft got smart
Last consol launch - they came out early .. what did the ppl get . Mor then 30 percent red rings of death. Defective junk. My friend Ramiro swapped 3 Xboxes in 2 yrs. No WiFi. Hd DVD that didn't even make it ... Ya don't forget the shame and crap Xbox tried to come up with .. to try and compete with just blueray alone.. maybe this time around you Xbox guys don't get a inferior consol my ps3 lasted me 5 yrs and that's cause I'd leave it on playing over 48 hrs and it was the fat original. A good damn consol ! And got my yellow light of death and opened it up restarted the mother board and repasted with thermal paste and BOOM. Works
Same old same old
Yawn, we've all heard those kind of stories before, just as last gen I couldn't get away from Xbox fanboys claiming they or their friend or their brother or their cousin or their cousin's cousin had multiple PS2s with dre problems, and so had to keep buying new consoles, that's why there were so many PS2 sales (BS, but those were the claims). Your post is just like that, only against the Xbox. In the end no-one really cares excepts fanboys to attack other consoles and brag about their own.
I've had PS2 then PS3, Xbox then Xbox 360 consoles, and they are all great consoles with pros and cons. But I get sick and tired of childish fanboy claims. I remember all the PS fanboys calling the Xbox a PC-box, or a PC-in-a-box, and similar terms, claiming unified memory was inferior and going on and on about the Emotion Engine and then Cell and how much superior they are to PC CPUs. Now look at the PS4, it's all the things the fanboys were attacking the Xbox for being.
I remember all the Xbox fanboys going on about superior power (Xbox vs PS2), the importance of having a hard drive in every console, and how sales didn't matter. That all changed when the 360 was a little less powerful than the PS3, didn't have a hard drive as standard and it's sales were ahead of the PS3, suddenly power and a hard drive wasn't *that* important and sales meant everything.
The point I'm making is that fanboys talk BS, where they exaggerate and even lie about the problems of other consoles, they exaggerate the importance of any area that their console is superior, and then do a complete 180 if things change.
Imo, thanks to the PS3 and 360 (sorry Nintendo, I'm not a fan) this console gen has been the best yet. I can't wait for PS4 and Xbox 720 (what ever it's called), because I think it's going to be even better for ALL gamers, despite what fanboys on both sides would say.
Even if it was true
Even if it was true about the PS2 only selling so much because of DRE (disc read error. People loved it so much that they would go and get another PS2. Where as with this generation they don't even bother with going through another red ring of death. That argument is so stupid, cause they are just stopped selling PS2 in some places like back in late 2012. Might still be selling in North America.
