Did you make plans to play The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on April 29th and then see the movie in theaters on May 2nd? It looks like the only way you'll do that with a current generation system is to purchase the game on the PlayStation 4.
According to a variety of retailers, Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Xbox One has been delayed with some retailers reporting the game has been outright cancelled. GameStop in particular has pushed the release date of the game back to 7/1/2014, months after its planned release on the PlayStation 4.
What is going on with the Xbox One release? Microsoft has yet to comment while Activision has just stated they are working with Microsoft to release the game.
The Xbox One version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was graphically behind the PS4 version in terms of resolution and framerate, like so many other multi-platform releases. Rather than release the game now and patch it later, perhaps Activision wants to fix any graphical issues before release?
Movie games have such a short lifespan, however, that perhaps the company just felt it was better to skip the release on Xbox One altogether rather than take the time to fix it.
