What Other Celebrity Voices Could Activision Use in Call of Duty: Ghosts?

Recently, Activision released a DLC pack that replaces all of the voiceovers in Call of Duty: Ghosts with Snoop Dogg. There’s some pretty laugh-out-loud moments in the DLC (as you can see here), but it made me wonder: what would happen if other celebrities lent their voices to the game? Here are some of the celebrities I believe should be included in future celebrity DLC packs.

Gilbert Gottfried

Gilbert Gottfried Call of Duty: Ghosts

If you’re unsure as to who Gilbert Gottfried is, go grab a copy of the Disney classic Aladdin and pay attention to the film. That voice? It’s Gilbert Gottfried. One of the most iconic voices of all time, hilarious to some while nails-on-a-chalkboard annoying to others, Gottfried can turn even the most serious lines of dialogue into sheer comedy. Watch this video of Gottfried reading the famous ‘I am the One Who Knocks’ monologue from Breaking Bad for a perfect example.

Now that the voice is in your head, imagine Gottfried spewing lines of dialogue in Call of Duty: Ghosts. Hilarious, right?

H. John Benjamin
Who is H. John Benjamin? Watch this video and you’ll instantly recognize the name behind the voice.

The voice of Sterling Archer and Bob from the television shows Archer and Bob’s Burgers, Benjamin is undoubtedly one of the most sought after voice actors in the world today – and he would be perfect in Call of Duty: Ghosts. Can you imagine Benjamin spouting lines such as ”the bomb, the bomb, THE BOOOOMB! DISARM THE BOMB!”, or, ”we’re behind. Wow, we suck,” in typical Benjamin style. It’d be so hilarious, you probably wouldn’t be able to play Call of Duty: Ghosts without busting a gut.

Larry David
The mind behind Seinfeld and the creator/writer/star of the HBO sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm has a unique gift for taking even the most uncomfortable situations and turning them into comedy gold. Here’s an example (albeit a very tame, G-rated example). Larry David seems to be one of those guys that could turn a McDonalds menu into something hilarious, so just imagine how great it would be hearing him complain about how you’re losing, how you need to get ahead, and more. After all, the world needs more Larry David.

Hulk Hogan
After watching this video, you can’t tell me you wouldn’t want to hear Hulk Hogan barking orders at you in Call of Duty: Ghosts. The most famous wrestler of all time with a voice that is instantly recognizable to nearly anyone on the planet, Hulk Hogan would be one of those voices that could make you smile and laugh simultaneously as he desperately tells you to, ”COME ON BROTHER! DISARM THAT BOMB DUDE,” or, ”HULKAMANIA RAN WILD ON THESE FOOLS BROTHER, WE WON THE ROUND!” . It basically writes itself.

Bruce Campbell
The king of horror comedies, Bruce Campbell, B-Movie God, is another celebrity that could spew one-liners in such a manner that you couldn’t help but laugh out loud. From ”Show them your boomstick to win the round,” to, Give me some sugar baby, we won again,”, again, these one-liners write themselves.

To get into the mood, watch this video of the best quotes from one of his most memorable films, Army of Darkness, and try to tell me he wouldn’t be a great addition to lending his voice to a Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC pack!

Clint Eastwood
Even in his 80s, Clint Eastwood is still one of the baddest men on the planet. The Man With No Name and Dirty Harry would be another celebrity that would make a great addition to Call of Duty: Ghosts ”Come on punk, disarm that bomb,” and ”That’s not how you handle a gun you maggot,” would be a few of the great one-liners we could see in the DLC pack.

Arnold Schwarzenegger
Clearly, Schwarzenegger has to say the line ”get to tha choppa” at least once in the DLC – I mean it’s pretty much a rule at this point, right? He may not be the muscular giant he was in his early films, but even so, Schwarzenegger still has a memorable voice that would make for some entertaining dialogue.

And finally…..

Samuel L. Jackson
You knew this was coming, didn’t you? Samuel L. Jackson has one of the most hilariously awesome voices on the planet, and it would be a perfect fit for a Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC voice pack. I’m not going to type some of the lines he could have in the DLC because I want to keep this post G-rated, but use your imagination and you will see what I mean.
