inFamous Second Son for the PS4
On February 20th 2013, Sony's conference took place to unveil the Playstation 4. Thanks to this event, we finally learned some interesting and exciting facts about Sony's new console. However, watching the entire conference proved to be quite a pain for some people, as a lot of gamers considered it to be sort of boring. When the conference switched over to the game trailers, I must admit that it got pretty stale in some instances. However, no one will forget the game presentation made by Nate Fox for the game Infamous Second Son.
This man indeed delivered a very sincere and epic introduction to this new game for the Playstation 4. You just have to watch it for yourself, but it mainly involves thoughts about world security and superpowers!
In Infamous Second Son, a citizen gains incredible powers to wreck havoc in our "safe and secure" world. Is this hero good or bad? We don't exactly know yet, but he's certainly ready to do anything to realize his vision. In the trailer, the man breaks through all security, shoots lightning balls at police officers and sends out a frightening message to authorities saying that they're not in control anymore (an emergency message to the population kept saying otherwise).
A great sense of panic and realism can be felt in the video, mainly through the graphics and sound effects. The lightning effects from our superhero are still as impressive as before and I found his attitude and face animation to be quite convincing as he took the camera in his hand to threaten the authorities. We all know that an action game isn't great unless you got a villain that can cause real damage on your hands. Infamous Second Son seems to be totally delivering on that aspect and should once offer a world that will make the player feel engaged.
While this trailer hasn’t showed us any gameplay, it’s pretty safe to say that this game will possess all the qualities that made the first Infamous so good. The same freedom of movement is to be expected, along with a great combat system. There will also certainly be plenty of moral choices to be made in Second Son as well because as Nate Fox pointed out, our security comes with a price, which is our freedom. We certainly can’t wait to investigate some new conspiracies and shape another Infamous story to our liking.
What’s even greater about all this is that this next Infamous game lands on a brand new and powerful console. The graphical part of the first Infamous left a little to be desired, but this problem can be pretty much considered as instantly resolved with the PS4. Buildings and textures should now be nicer and crisper, and the city should now load even quicker as you flow through it with your superpowers.
Needless to say, the presentation of Infamous Second Son at the Sony conference was one of the highlights of the night. If this game is anywhere near as engaging as Nate Fox's speech (and it should be), we’re in for a real treat at the release of the PS4.

Update – May 9th, 2013 – June Issue of Game Informer
As Infamous Second Son still stands as one of the most anticipated PS4 games, Game Informer unveils a special issue covering the game more in-depth than ever before, particularly concerning the protagonist and the story. You can check the preview of the issue here (be warned that spoilers could be contained after the jump). In the information revealed, we notably learn that the game will take place in Seattle, which will be the city to be transformed into a total mayhem. This is an important change from the previous title, which took place in a fictional city. The game takes place seven years after the events involving Cole and you will now have to fight a group of authorities named the Department of Unified Protection. Our reckless hero, named Delsin Rowed this time around, will manipulate smoke as his main power, rather than electricity for the hero of the first Infamous game. Similar mechanics will still be in place when it comes to making your choices in the game. Another interesting fact is that Rowed will be able to absorb smoke using the Dual Shock 4 touchpad. So stay tuned for this first magazine issue to include a complete feature for a PS4 game and come back here for any more updates and sources as we head towards E3!
