- Place it in an open space above the ground. Don't place it in an enclosed space.
- Use compressed air to keep dust out of the vents
- Keep the system horizontal

How Hot Does the PS4 Run?
Some people worry about their PS4 when it feels hot to the touch. In these situations, it's best to understand how hot the PS4 should be running. This will vary based on how much heat is being generated by the GPU.
The folks over at Planet Extech took some Thermal Images which can give us a glimpse into how the PS4 operates.
Here we have an image of the PS4 surface while playing Killzone: Shadow Fall:
As you can see, the surface is reading at over 100-degrees Fahrenheit. If we look at the vents, it's even higher:
After several hours of playing the temperature held at this level during a normal play session. It's important to realize that, even though this may seem hot to the touch, it's a standard level of temperature for the console.
