PS4 PlayStation 4 Newsletter:
It's been an exciting couple of weeks since the big PlayStation 4 announcement made by Sony. If you missed the announcement or just need a refresher course, we've got you covered in this edition of our newsletter.
On February 20th, Sony held a PlayStation event focusing on the PlayStation 4 and its unveiling. The main focus of the announcement, besides announcing the console itself, is that the company hopes the PS4 will usher in "the future of play." It will do this through a number of social gaming aspects, including the ability to upload screenshots and videos of any game via a "Share" button, watch a friend online as he plays through a game, take over if he gets stuck and connect to friends quickly and easily to share information and play multiplayer.
The event lasted several hours and introduced a number of additional aspects in addition to the social aspects, such as information about the DualShock 4 and a number of games due for release at launch with the console. Games coming out for the PlayStation 4 at launch include Killzone: Shadow Fall by Guerrilla Games, Driveclub by Evolution Studios, The Witness by Jonathan Blow and Destiny by Bungee. This is only the tip of the iceberg though, as many more high profile publishers announced their games at the event!
In addition, Sony expressed interest in creating a cloud environment in which players could easily download and play classic games without requiring the actual disc through the Gaikai service.

This year's Game Developer Conference, also known as GDC 2013, is slated to begin on March 25th and end on March 29th, with Sony expected to give talks on March 27th. The event is bound to be very exciting now that Sony has confirmed the PlayStation 4. Specifically, the company promised it would hold a session to provide an overview for developers on developing for the new console. In addition, we can expect Bungee to reveal more information about Destiny and how well it will run on the PlayStation 4 console. While consumer news, such as price and release date, will likely not be announced, it will provide an opportunity for fans to check out the inner workings of the PS4.
