Rime is a new indie game that was just announced at Gamescom. The project is presented by Tequila Works, the same team behind Deadlight. Inspiring landscapes, spectacular views and a great soundtrack are what stood out of this trailer. This trailer was indeed small, but the impact on the viewers is made at the end of the video – what does this gorgeous island hide at nighttime? Perhaps something à la Minecraft?
Once night comes, it looks like threats could become alive and abound. A few seconds before, we see the character brandishing a stick on fire, so he might be getting ready for a fight. It looks like music will play a big part in Rime as well. The track in the trailer was on point and such a game without music would simply not be the same.
So to sum it up, it’s interesting to see a game like this coming from the same developer as Deadlight, not only because it could mean quality, but also because it could make us see the contrast between the two games. From this trailer, the Rime world seems to be all about contrast as well. Although games like this certainly aren’t using the full power of the PS4, they fit totally well without the new digital era and the world of micro-transactions. Hopefully we’ll be able to catch this one little epic adventure for a few bucks on the Playstation Store.
