When Sony made the grand claim of wanting to sell three million PlayStation 4 units by the end of the year, some doubted if that number would be possible to reach due to the staggered launch of the system.
Sony has announced that even though the console has only been released in the United States and Canada thus far, the company has already surpassed one million PlayStation 4 consoles sold!
In comparison, Sony only sold around 200,000 PlayStation 3 units within two weeks of launch; the PlayStation 4 has sold about five times that number in only a fraction of the time, giving the console a very healthy future.
Recently, Ubisoft has claimed that it expects double the users for this console generation, and the fast sales of the PlayStation 4 support that theory. With the console still set to release in Europe and other countries before the end of the year, three million PlayStation 4 consoles sold in 2013 is looking very likely.
PS4 Experts readers, have you bought your PlayStation 4 yet? Are you part of the one million consoles sold? Let us know in the comments!
