I am currently typing this article with this exact keyboard and I love every second of it. As a full-time writer, this beautiful piece of mechanical mastery is the most accurate keyboard I've ever used, hands-down. Not to mention it can keep up with my almost 100 words-per-minute typing speed, which is something a lot of keyboards cannot boast.
Here are the features it entails:

Top Five PS4 Wireless Keyboards
1. Razer Turret
This wireless keyboard from Razer was made with the single focus of bringing PC gaming to the couch, and in that regard it succeeds. You'll have dual wireless connectivity between your keyboard and your mouse via bluetooth.
The keyboard is designed with ergonomics in mind, and a focus on playing with the keyboard on your lap. The Razer level of quality you would expect is here as well, with tons of great features:
- Magnetic Mouse Mat so your mouse doesn't fall or slip during gaming sessions.
- Long battery life with up to 40-hours of gameplay.
While many hardcore gamers may scoff at the idea of using a wireless keyboard because of possible input lag, you can't argue that the ability to sit on the couch and play with a mouse and keyboard isn't something you'd like to do.
Nitpicks aside, this is the best wireless keyboard option currently on the market. Here we have a solid price point under $100 for a wireless keyboard that also sports illuminated keys so it's easy to find what you're looking for, even in the dark.
On top of that, here are some other compelling features that it sports:
- PerfectStroke key system ensures that every button press is both fluid and quiet
- No batteries required, you can charge it with the included micro-USB cable (which fits in the PS4 by the way!)
- 2.4 GHZ receiver allows you to use the keyboard on multiple devices.
- The unifying receiver can also pair with other logitech devices like a mouse.
Among the gamers out there, this is one of the top mentioned wireless keyboard for the PS4. The biggest plus with this keyboard is that it can sync to multiple devices. One person online said they used it for their PS4, iPad, and another device as well! Talk about bang for your buck! It may not be the top of the line mechanical keyboard, but it has some unique features beyond just compatibility.
It also charges by lamplight or sunlight, which means you won't be draining your wallet for batteries. When charged, you can rock your games for up to three months, even if you're playing in total darkness. It has a nice design with a quiet keystroke, and a concave design. This means precision, long battery life, and did I mention it charges on light? Yep, this is the top keyboard to get, and the price is exactly where it should be!
- Charges itself with lamplight or sunlight, indoors or outdoors
- Fully charged, it works for at least three months-even in total darkness
- Easy-switching Bluetooth connection enables switching from Mac to iPad or iPhone as simple and easy as pushing a button
- Unique concave key design delivers fast, quiet typing, with more precision than your iPad or iPhone on-screen keyboard
- From the PVC-free construction to the fully recyclable box, designed to reduce its environmental footprint
In a beautiful union of quality and convenience, this is a wireless mechanical keyboard. It includes a built in battery as well. The downside to this keyboard is that it is overpriced, but it is one of the few mechanical keyboards on the market that is also wireless. That price though, holds it back from greatness.
- Wireless + compact
- Long Battery Life
- Also connects to iPad & Android tablets, PCs, and other Bluetooth devices.
- It's narrow enough to fit in your laptop bag, making it easy to take with you.
- Really quiet.
If you're looking for a wireless keyboard, but you don't need it for gaming, this is your best bet. It's under $30 on sale, and it allows you to quickly send messages, enter codes, or type just about anything else you need.
It works with all kinds of devices besides the PS4, and it includes 92 keys total. With a long battery life, and a touchpad as well, it's like a mouse/keyboard all-in-one.
So I hooked up a keyboard to my PS4, what can I do with it?
Well aren’t you fancy, hooking it up just like that. For those of us who want a little more butter on our bread, here’s some tips to hooking up your keyboard and ensuring the settings are where you like it. A wired USB keyboard will instantly be recognized and you will be asked to specify which user is using it. After that, you’re golden. Once it’s plugged in, you can change the language, key repeat rate, and key repeat delay by going to settings > devices > external keyboard.
For the wireless among us, the process is also simple. You can access the settings >> devices >> Bluetooth Devices. The system will scan for your bluetooth keyboard and pick it up automatically. From here, the steps and customization are the same as the wired keyboard. You’re good to go!
Now, once you have it set up, you can use the keyboard, and a mouse if you like, to navigate menus, browse the web, and type messages. All of this is much easier with a keyboard so convenience here is a big plus. As of right now, the only game that supports Keyboard and Mouse in-game is War Thunder which is a free-to-play flight combat game featuring a variety of classic aircraft combat.
The PS4 MMO Final Fantasy XIV also supports mouse and keyboard, which is good, because I don't know about you, but I like my MMORPGS with a little M&K, you know what I'm saying? Wow, that sounded better in my head. Let's wrap this up, shall we?
Keep in mind that only the basic buttons and functions will work on the PS4. All those fancy media buttons and cool touch pads that some of today's keyboards have won't work with PS4 games. For some people, this means choosing a more basic keyboard since they won't need the extra bells and whistles.
If you plan on using the keyboard for other devices like your PC as well, then why not splurge a little and get one of the top keyboards to use across all of your gaming devices? The choice is yours!
Play More PS4 Games With a Keyboard & Mouse Using an Emulator!
Let's say you want to play PS4 games, but you really can't get over the feel of a controller. Believe it or not, there are a few accessories out there that can convert your keyboard and mouse inputs into something the PS4 can recognize.
It may sound too good to be true, and it sort of is, but these devices also perform as promised for the most part. Let's take a look at three options:
This first choice is the highest rated of the three I found. It also happens to be the most expensive, go figure. It works with a variety of consoles, PS4 being one of them. It connects wireless to devices and allows you to download a manager to handle your configurations prior to hooking it up.
It works like a charm, so the only real downside is the price tag. Even so, this could open up a lot of potential for you to finally use a mouse & keyboard on your console.
This is the next best option on the market and it functions much like the first example. It offers a wired and wireless mode, along with 1,000Hz ultra polling to limit any input lag. This device also comes with a mouse and controller combo in case you want to play with a different combination than simply mouse and keyboard.
Again, the price is a little high, but with the extra devices included, this isn't a bad deal.
This is the mainstream option that also sports the lowest price. This will work with a variety of games on your PS4 and supports multiple profiles if you wish to tweak the settings. What's more, you can use a single device for multiple consoles without changing the firmware.
What do you think of these options? Have you tried any of them? We'd love to hear your thoughts on these unique devices!
So there you have it, my top picks for gaming keyboards that you can use on your PS4 and PC. Have any questions? Which one is your favorite? Do you plan on using a Keyboard on your PS4, and what games do you want to see support this control input? Tell us in the comments!
A quick disclaimer: the more expensive keyboards on this list will have a variety of special buttons. These buttons will work on your PC, but not on the PS4, so if you're just using it for PS4, consider a less flashy (but accurate) option from our list. Special thanks for the comment below that pointed this out.
