At CES 2013, Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 has exceeded 4.2 million sales worldwide from the time of the United States launch on November 15th to December 28th, 2013.
This puts the company well on track to breaking the goal of 5 million units sold by March 2014, considering it took only two months to sell over 4 million units. Selling 800,000 units in three months? We estimate that Sony will have that goal in the bag by the end of January 2014.
How does this compare to the Xbox One? Microsoft announced that the Xbox One is at only 3 million sales worldwide by the end of 2013, putting the PlayStation 4 clearly in the lead by a huge margin.
