PS4 Firmware Update 5.50

PlayStation 4 system update 5.50 is right around the corner, and currently in beta form. Signups to test the update are now closed, but invites are still going out. Keep an eye on your email as they are sending out beta tester avatar codes, to use in the PSN Store. Your notifications should let you know its ready to be downloaded as there is no need for codes to download the beta once invited to join.

Here's some of whats coming to PS4 in update 4.50

While not everyone will be invited to test the System Software 4.50 beta, everyone will have something to look forward to when the full update is rolled out to the world. During these beta tests, we don’t get to try everything that is coming, but do get to test some major features. Here’s a look at what is coming to the next PS4 update, 4.50, later this year.

PS4 Update 3.50

Update 3.50 will become available tomorrow and while it doesn’t feature the ability to change your PSN name, it does offer some new useful additions to the core experience.

Probably the biggest part of the update is the ability to stream your PS4 to PC and Mac with Remote Play. The new feature is compatible with Windows 8.1, Windows 10, OS X 10.10 and OS X 10.11. Some disappointment can be found in the frame rates and resolution dropping, depending on your internet connection speeds.
